Justification for our participation in the TRINO project

The rise in popularity of birdwatching as a leisure activity is not a fact that is isolated from the increase in tourists’ visits to natural areas. Tourist activity in natural/rural areas shows a clear expansion, tending toward consolidation from a business perspective, shown by repetition levels (which creates loyalty) and the continuous increase in the number of visitors. This phenomenon is in addition to the increase in environmental awareness in Western societies. A substantial increase in aspects related to nature tourism, such as increases in the sales of accessories, publication of specialised books and magazines, and active and nature tourism fairs and festivals.

All of this makes birdwatching another element of tourism development, and in turn of local development, which is the final objective for Local Actions Groups like ASODEBI.
