ADRIMO

The Association for the Overall Rural Development of La Moraña (ADRIMO, from the Spanish acronym) was formed on 18 April 2001 to promote and encourage sustainable local development in its municipal area as a privileged intervention entity, through the execution of consortial programmes with public and private institutions at different levels.

It is a non-profit organisation whose partners include local entities, businesses and business organisations, independent professionals, cooperatives, professional agricultural organisations and associations, and individuals.

With the goal of promoting development in its area, the La Moraña region has set the following fundamental objectives: population maintenance in the territory, appreciation of internal resources (cultural and natural heritage), improved quality of life, increase in the territory’s organisational abilities, and improvement of the economic situation in order to be able to consolidate and create new jobs. All of this is carried out by means of different actions:

• Diversification in favour of non-agricultural activities

• Helping microbusinesses to be created and developed

• Encouragement of tourism activities

• Basic services for the rural economy and population

• Renovation and development of rural populations

• Conservation and improvement of rural heritage

• Training and education
