They are stony terrains, practically unproductive. This environment tends to be quite hostile for vegetation, which is limited to small bushes. In them, we find species like the Eurasian Stone-curlew, Pin-tailed Sandgrouse, Dupont's Lark, Thekla Lark, Tawny Pipit and the Spectacled Warbler.
They occupy great extensions of land and become important in the Soriana and Burgos moorland, as well as the inner areas of the Community, like Los Infantes, el Cerrato, Montes Torozos, etc.
