ROUTE DESCRIPTION

San Martín de Perapertú is a small village in the mountains of Palencia, located in the municipality of San Cebrián de Mudá. It is the start of this interesting linear route that finishes in the village of Mudá, which is connected to San Martín de Perapertú by the local road PP-2125 which runs along the Mudá Valley.

The path that leads out of San Martín de Perapertú slowly gains height as it approaches the rocky crags that rise from the green pastures, dense Oak woods and riverbank vegetation which accompany the streams. In this open area it is easy to see birds of prey such as Common Buzzards, Griffon Vultures, Booted Eagles or Black and Red Kites. Amongst the shrubs and bushes hide Southern Grey Shrikes, Stonechats, Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs.

After passing through the crags, the route carries on to the fertile lowlands of the Peña Albilla stream, crossing it and continuing to Mudá through the valley of the Arroyo del Molino.
